6 tips for wearing faux leather in the spring
These pictures are from February but hey, life gets crazy. I also like to think that this outfit is perfect for any time of the year because black is the new black. Black is chic and this is pretty chic if I do say so myself. And since I’m all about casual chic (functional), this is one of my fave outfits. It’s casual, sophisticated, and sexy all at the same time.
I paired it with high boots because it was February and there was snow on the ground. But this could easily be worn with strappy stilettos or heels. I was also totally opposed to faux leather for awhile because I didn’t think it looked very good on me. But I think it just takes finding the right piece. And with it being spring and all, I thought we would chat about how to wear faux leather for spring!
I added a pop of blue with the purse but you can go oven further now that it’s a different season. There are a lot of other ways to make wearing faux leather more spring-like.
Tips for wearing faux leather in the spring:
Mix textiles. Wear a sleeveless fluttery top or a chambray button up. Mixing different types of textiles gives the outfit dimension and really makes it stand out.
Add florals. Florals always scream spring so if you want to make it a little more spring-appropriate, add a floral top or floral bag.
Keep it light. You probably don’t want a heavy leather jacket but for the cool nights, go ahead and throw it on. Faux leather shorts, skirts, and tanks are also the perfect compromise.
Stay bright. Wearing bright colors with black leather also tones it down and gives it a lighter feel.
Accessorize. Leather pants or dresses not your thing? I get it. Grab a bag, shoes, or choker and give it just enough to be trendy but not too much where you’re out of your comfort zone.
Doesn’t have to be black. Some of my favorite faux leather pieces for spring aren’t black! Blush, lilac, grey… there are so many amazing pieces available right now! In fact, I linked a ton below for you 🙂
Most people think leather and think fall and winter. But I’m a firm believer in wearing whatever you want, whenever you want. There are trends to guide you but for the most part, I say wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Just choose whatever works best for you 🙂
Oh and don’t forget your confidence… that’s the most important part 😉 XO
