Tired doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel today. I *thought* this was going to be somewhat of a relaxing weekend and I don’t think I relaxed even while sleeping. It was nuts. SO much nuts stuff (name that movie…) But we had a lot of fun and I know I’ll look back and be thankful for these memories.
Friday night we ordered pizza and rented “How to be Single.” If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. Rebel Wilson is perfection in that movie. Well she always is but she was pretty fabulous. But other than that, it was pretty low key and we went to bed fairly early.
We woke up Saturday morning and headed to gym class. Followed by Starbucks and a trip downtown to the Farmer’s Market. It’s mostly the same stuff every week but it will never get old. One of my fave boutiques was celebrating their 2nd birthday so of course I had to make an appearance there! I was the lucky winner of a 30% off coupon so I did a little perusing and found a few goodies 🙂 We made a quick stop at Target and then headed home to get lunch before the birthday party.
The birthday party the kids attended was at a cute little hidden gem we had never heard of before. There was a bounce house, indoor swing sets, a seesaw, and slides galore! The kids had a blast and for sure burned some energy.
We headed home, fed and bathed the kids and then as we expected, they were asleep pretty soon after that. I got ready to head to a dance recital to see two of my favorite little girls dance their hearts out. I loved seeing them up on stage and I loved watching all of the dances. I did feel a pang of sadness sitting there because I miss dance more than anything. I would love to start dancing again but it’s so hard to get back into shape and find the time to do it. Maybe one day I’ll make the time; it truly was and still is such a large piece of me and I miss it dearly.
Sunday morning we woke up and made pancakes and headed to Lowe’s for some yard stuff. And when I saw their selection of succulents, my heart did a little pitter patter. I’ve been looking for the perfect fake ones but when I found these real ones, I knew they were coming home with me. I also grabbed an Aloe Vera plant and a Lucky Bamboo plant. Does anyone else feel happy when they have live flowers or plants in the house? I do 🙂
We spent the rest of the afternoon with friends and some good old southern BBQ. I even stepped outside my comfort zone and tried something new. I still can’t say it out loud so I’ll tell you all about it another time (mind over matter doesn’t work for me…)
I spent some time snuggling this little guy and I may need to get one down the road. He’s the cutest!
I certainly didn’t have a second to relax (or get anything on my list done) but we had a great time and spent it with great people. Maybe I’ll catch up on sleep next week? We’ll see. But this week is JAM PACKED full of fun stuff and I can’t wait to share it all with you! Hint: I’m doing some super fun thingssssss! Make sure you’re following me on Snapchat (@samantha_show) and come along for the ride (there’s your hint…)
Have a great day! xo
