Be your own sunshine.

Oh life. It’s been a rollercoaster the past few months and now that we’re settled in our house, you’d think it was on the ups. But we’re not in the clear yet! Between my oldest starting Kindergarten, my husband transitioning out of the military and adjusting to the new house, it’s as crazy as ever.

Everything else in life >>> taking care of myself. Workouts? What are those? Eating healthy? Ehhh most of the time. Anxiety and depression 1, Sam 0. You get the point. It hasn’t been all cupcakes and rainbows.

But I’ve been taking it one day at a time. If I need to lay down and take deep breaths, I do it. If I get down on myself for not making time for the gym, I take the dog and kids for a walk. I’m trying to be more patient with my oldest and his behavioral issues but Lort help me, it’s been a challenge.

But despite everything, there are so many reasons to smile everyday. Even on the tough days, I try to sit and be mindful of all the positive things going on in my life. If you’re struggling, I encourage to do the same. Be your own sunshine, babes.

Take a few minutes to smile to yourself, you’ll feel happier.

Throw on some music and start dancing. Dance parties cure everything.

Take deep breaths. Give yourself a mental timeout when you need one.

Find something YOU love and do it. You deserve it.

Take things one day at a time. Don’t try to do it all.

Don’t compare yourself to others on the internet. People don’t share their WHOLE lives.

Take yourself shopping, or to the spa. TREAT YO SELF!

Sometimes you need to just dig deep and be with yourself. Listen to what your body or mind need and make it happen. Life isn’t always going to be a breeze but you can always find something to smile about. If not, make your own sunshine 🙂
