“It’s called a fashion blog, Todd”

I died the first time I saw this. Like total basic b*tch, “I can’t even” moment right here.
But really, when you think about it, fashion blogs or style blogs may seem crazy to someone who doesn’t blog. It may look like we’re a bunch of egotistical women who want the best brands of clothes, shoes, and jewelry and like to parade around taking selfies and showing off.

But I promise you, it’s nothing like that. At least not for me anyways.
I like to share the things I wear for a few reasons:
I’m a mom to a 3 year old and 1 year old, so I dress for style but also functionality. You’ll very rarely see me in heels around here… and for a good reason. I don’t wear them all the time. I share outfits that I wear on the daily; whether running errands or date night with your husband, I want to show you looks you may actually be able to draw inspiration from. I envy fashion bloggers who wear heels all the time and actually wear them out for realz; but this girl right here doesn’t, so I would never make you think I do.

I’m just a normal person. I’m not some super hott, super skinny model with perfect skin or perfect hair. I love fashion blogs, don’t get me wrong, but I know that half of the stuff I see on them would never look good on me. I dress for me; your average (or I guess below average haha) 5’2” woman. With what I feel are stumpy legs, long arms, and a pudgy belly. I’ve learned to dress my post-baby body and tried to embrace it as much as I can. I still don’t feel 100% but I’ve discovered that most women don’t. You just learn to live with it or you do something about it. (Which for me is hopefully going to mean hitting a gym soon…)
I like to shop small and I like a good deal. I like to share that with y’all because who wouldn’t find out about a super cute boutique and have a discount code to go shopping? My style ranges from Target to Express to Forever 21. I love it all. I can’t afford crazy expensive brands and because of that, you’ll most likely never see them here. I share things I can afford, things I purchased or could have purchased. Because that’s reality; as much as I would LOVE a pair of Christian Louboutin’s or new Louis Vuitton luggage, I have a kid in diapers and another kid starting preschool soon. Ain’t nobody got time for that. Or money.
I blog about fashion because I love fashion. I’m not always “trendy” and you may never wear the things I choose to wear, but that’s why it makes it fun to share. Maybe you see something here and go to your own closet and find something similar. Or maybe you see something here you don’t like and want to find the complete opposite. It’s all to get your creative juices flowing!
Whether you come here for the outfit posts or come here for the other randomness, I can promise you this…it’s the real me. I love taking selfies just as much as the next person, I shop at places I can afford without going into debt, and I really wear the outfits I take pictures in.

SO tell me… what types of outfits do you like best? What else do you want to see around these parts? I have a list brewing but I’m always up for a challenge 🙂
And on a side note: watch that video again…what the heck are meat sweats?! 😉
