Bubbles and Bloggers: SAX Washington D.C.

When I found out we were moving to D.C, I was stoked for the opportunity to meet other bloggers in the area. Living an hour and a half from Atlanta made it super hard to get into the city for blogging and press events. But now that I’m only 20 minutes or so (depending on traffic) from the city, it makes it so much easier to get out and about.

You know one of the craziest things about blogging? Making instant connections with others just solely based on the fact that they’re bloggers too. Knowing that you share the same interests, understanding of the field and passion for what you do is just one of the coolest things in the world.

I’ve talked to Rheanna over the years of blogging (I’m going on six years… yikes!) and we met for the first time a few weeks ago for a playdate. Of course we hit it off right away and she invited me to a local bloggers event at SAX Washington D.C. The theme was Girl’s Night Out- sequins, faux fur, bling… you get it! So I went with a black velvet dress, black velvet booties, and a blush fur coat. So fun, right?

I obviously had never been to the bar before and was totally caught off guard when the music got really loud, the lights dimmed, and people started dancing on poles behind a glass wall. But it didn’t stop there; chains, aerial silks, hip hop dancers and more. It was seriously amazing!

But even more fun was getting to talk and know all of the girls at the event. Turns out I had been following and chatting with a few of them on Instagram and one of them is best friends with one of my friend’s from high school. Small world! But I’m super excited for the event next month and I can already tell it’s a great group of girls. And I think I’m really going to like it here 🙂
