Transitioning from summer to fall with shadow roots.
Transitioning from summer to fall with shadow roots.
I’ve always been adventurous when it comes to my hair. And although I’m a natural brunette, blonde is where I feel at “home”. The blonder, the better is what I always say. Remember when I took the plunge and went platinum blonde? Sigh, that was fun. But I was getting sick of dying my roots every 4-6 weeks, so I decided to give a new trend a try.
Where did I look? Duh, Pinterest. I showed my hair stylist some pictures of what I liked and apparently this look here is called “shadow roots”. And it’s like, oh em gee so totally trendy. Or so that’s what Pinterest says anyways. Haha I always tell my stylist I trust her and give her full reign and she seriously nails it every time.
Here’s the before (I forgot to have her take one so this was a selfie the day before!)
I’m totally obsessed with my new hair and love that I won’t have to sit through the annoyance of bleach (until next time I want to go completely platinum anyways). But I think shadow roots is perfect to transition from summer to fall and I think it’s a nice change without giving up too much of my blonde. Shadow roots can really add dimension and change up your entire look for the new season.
I’m going to miss my stylist like woah when I move and I’m half considering asking her if she will just move with me. Along with my photographer. Wouldn’t that be nice? A girl can dream people… a girl can dream.
So what do you think? Do you play it safe or try new things when it comes to your hair?! Would you go with the shadow roots trend?
