The importance of independent play

Today’s post is sponsored by Cubbie Lee Toys. All opinions are my own.

Play is one of the most important things in a child’s life, right? Learning to play alone, with other kids, or at school is one of the most monumental aspects of growing up. Play fuels imagination, independence, cognitive development, motor skills, and so much more. Plus it’s fun, right?!

I’m always looking for ways to keep my kids entertained but more importantly than that, finding toys that let them entertain themselves. Independent play is super important to me and there’s nothing more rewarding than hearing your kids do it.

My daughter LOVES to have tea parties and when I saw this Tea Party set from Cubbie Lee Toys, I knew she would go crazy over it. And of course I couldn’t pass on this dessert stand for her tea party! So cute, right?!

My son LOVES planes, trains, and automobiles. And could spend hours playing on a train track. This 30-piece train set allows him to set up his own little town, design his track, “save” the good guys, etc. I had to help him because he wanted the design exactly like the one on the box but once I set it up for him, he was good to go!

The best toys aren’t the ones that have all the bells and whistles but the ones that allow the kids to use their own imagination and create with their minds.

Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on plastic toys that you’re going to throw away or have your kids get bored with, these wooden toys are quality, affordable, and safe additions to your playroom. Plus they’re absolutely adorable!

Be sure to visit Cubbie Lee Toys and check out their selection. They have something for as little as 6 months all the way up to 5 years. The holidays are just around the corner and it’s never too soon to start stocking up! XO
