Chicago Weekend Recap Part 2
So where did I leave off??
Oh yes, the reception 🙂
So since it was adults only, little Bubba spent the evening with four lovely ladies that Z and I went to college with (Yes, you read that right. Four. Ladies man?) and we enjoyed some much needed adult time.
The reception was at Germania Place and it was absolutely beautiful. When we walked in, we were immediately served a cocktail and hour’derves. A pianist played in the background while we all mingled and said our congratulations to the bride and groom.
When it was time for dinner, the doors opened to the ballroom and the ambiance was breathtaking. The speeches were right on point and I even teared up during the first dances (I’m a sucker for weddings).
Being that I’m not so much of a drinker anymore, a few cocktails later and I was feeling good. I can only imagine the crowds reaction to my dance moves during Call Me Maybe and Gangnam Style…hey, once in awhile, you need that kind of night!
The party continued to a bar that my cousin had rented out and soon after, we returned back to the hotel for a few hours of sleep.
Brunch was bright and early at 8:00 a.m. as people wanted to get back on the road, followed by a little sight seeing and pizza lunch in the city with Z’s side of the family.
(Ignore how crappy I look… a hangover does not look good on me) |
Learning from my epic sleeping fail on the way to Chicago, I may or may not have taken a sleeping pill on the way home, making my train experience a little more bearable.
Only 35 days until we’re headed home to Ohio 🙂
