Today’s post on must-haves for that girlboss grind is a part of an Advil® sponsored series for Socialstars #Advil #sp
I’m a creative through and through. I wrote about it last week because it finally made sense to me; my entire life I’ve had idea after idea and always felt like my body was going a different direction than my head. And at 100 miles a minute! But as I enter the last year of my twenties, I’m feeling better than ever about what I’m doing. And I’m more determined than ever to make my dreams come true.
My life changed drastically when I became a mom. All of a sudden I had to think about who was going to take care of my kids when I went back to work. Could we afford it? What would I even do? I couldn’t even think of anything I was passionate enough about or anything in my location that would make me happy. Living on my husband’s income wasn’t always a breeze but we made it work because we honestly didn’t know what to do. Kids and marriage and careers don’t come with instructions or a black and white answer. So we tried to make the best decisions we could and just rolled with it.
Fast forward 4 years later and things have changed a lot. My husband has found a job he loves, I’ve turned my blog into a career, and I have so many more exciting things happening this year. Like my head is exploding with excitement! But it’s not always easy; finding the time to beast mode while taking care of a husband, house, two toddlers and 4 pets can be a challenge. But luckily I’ve got a few things that help make my “job” a little easier.
A planner. This thing is my lifeline and I don’t know what I would do without it. I post all of my work assignments, client projects, appointments, and social events in this baby. This literally comes everywhere with me!
A notebook. You never know when an idea is going to strike so it’s important to always have a notebook with you. It’s also perfect for making to-do lists and those are a lifesaver when it comes to staying organized and keeping your sanity.
Inspirational books. I have so many books stacked on my desk and ready to be read. Books about business, blogging, social media, inspiration and more. These not only keep you motivated but can also help you to find direction, creative inspiration and motivation!
A laptop. I have a desktop and I love it to pieces. It’s where I do all of my photo editing, video conference calls, work when the kids aren’t home, and more. However my new laptop has been crucial in the past month. It’s allowed me to bring it with me wherever I go, work at coffee shops, be in the same room as my family when just catching up on emails, etc. It’s helped me to get a lot more done and it’s always nice to have with me on the go.
Water bottle. I’m terrible about drinking water and it’s something I definitely need to work on. Which is why I have this bad boy with me at all times. Having a bottle of water helps to keep you hydrated and alert, ready to take on the day. Coffee is often my lifeline which is another reason I carry water with me. Don’t want to get dehydrated!
Advil® Liqui-Gels. I get headaches frequently and they are no fun for anyone. So I always make sure to carry Advil® Liqui-Gels® with me to nip the problem in the heinie from the beginning. Between managing multiple businesses, running the kids to school and sports, and keeping this house afloat, ain’t nobody got time for a headache. I’ve also been having issues with back pain and these help with that too. Sitting at a desk (or couch) while working can take a toll on the back, and Advil® Liqui-Gels® help to treat those backaches and have you feeling better in no time.
I couldn’t be happier with what I’m doing right now and I have big goals and dreams for 2016. Staying prepared and healthy keeps me on my toes and able to tackle all of the activities I need to tackle in a normal day. Stay tuned my friends, things are getting exciting around here!
