Get down on the floor and play with your kids!
Today’s discussion is sponsored by Microban. All opinions are my own.
I’m not perfect, so I’m certainly not a perfect mom. I don’t think anyone is! We’re all just trying to do the best we can and raise good humans, right?
I know there are a ton of different parenting styles out there and to be honest, I don’t even know what they are. Or if I use any of them. I do what I think works best for me and the kids. Because all kids are different and different approaches and techniques work for different kids.
But you know what’s universal? Loving your kids. Loving them hard. Even when they’ve been driving me crazy all day and I can’t take one more ounce of the fighting, whining, or crying, I love them something fierce.
They ask me to play all the time. And while sometimes I encourage independent play, I try to play with them for a little everyday. There’s nothing better than hearing them laugh or listening to them play make believe.
Why should you get down on the floor and play with your kids?
It lets them know you’re interested in what they’re doing.
They like your companionship.
It helps them communicate; talking, forming sentences, learning words, etc.
Great bonding experience. Ask them questions! ENGAGE with what you’re doing.
Microban has launched their Live On campaign and I love what it stands for. There are so many things we worry about as parents. Are my kids eating enough? Are they sleeping enough? Are they safe enough? I could go on and on for days. Parents never stop worrying!
But Microban has solutions; they’ve built protection into the products we love so that we can worry less and live more. “With our versatile antimicrobial, odor control, and surface modification technologies at hand, we keep products cleaner and control odors by preventing problems before they start.”
For examples, check out Phenix Flooring and Florida Tile.
I’ll be the first to admit I don’t always want to play with my kids. There’s stuff to be done around the house, deadlines to meet, and I’m exhausted after the day. But if you can carve out a little bit of time everyday, you won’t regret it. These years with our kids are fleeting but the memories will last forever.
So what’s stopping you?! Get down on the floor and play with your kids 🙂
