When I went to Chicago for the SoFabU On the Road conference last month, I knew I wanted to book a photoshoot in the city. Chicago is my absolute favorite city (don’t get me started on why I never lived there) and I wanted to have pictures with the city in all it’s glory. I asked around for recommendations and I am SO happy that someone recommended Melissa from Iron + Honey Photography. She was super nice and easy to work with and I mean, these pictures?! Come on! I LOVE them.
I picked up this top and these shorts on Michigan Ave after my conference and I am kind of obsessed with them. The shorts were only $9.99 and top was only $12.99. I seriously love how affordable H&M is. The shoes were a clearance purchase from Express and they are sold out, but I linked another cute pair I found.
I was able to squeeze in 4 outfits during our shoot and I’ll share the rest of them with you over the next few weeks. I had so much fun shooting in a big city and I can’t wait to move to D.C. and have that opportunity more often! My husband will be taking over the photographer responsibilities until I find a new photographer (if I can even find one I love, tear) so that should be an adventure for both of us haha
And now onto some business. I’ve been blogging for 5 years and this ole blog here has changed direction a few times over the years. I’ve become a parent (twice), discovered a love for fashion, shared my struggles and my wins. I’ve shared my struggle with mental health, weight loss, and my failures as a parent. I’m a creative; I love to create, write, share, and connect. I love PR and marketing (what I studied in college) and business aspects. And blogging has given me the opportunity to do all of that.
But I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of you. Which means I need your input; do you want to see more parenting posts? More fashion posts? More giveaways? More small businesses? TELL ME! You guys make this place even better and I need your input to make sure I’m giving you what you want (what you really, really want… Spice Girls for life)
Fill out this short survey for me and I’ll love you forever. Which I already do but this will help me even more. If you want to share your email address, I’ll gladly enter you in a giveaway for a $20 Starbucks gift card. But if you want to remain anonymous, that’s okay too! And be honest, I promise I won’t get upset. We all need constructive criticism to better ourselves sometimes, right? Thanks dolls!
