kids Mommy and Me Motherhood parenting

My 6 month old beauty.

To my beautiful girl,
How is it possible that you’re 6 months old already? It seems like just yesterday we were anxiously awaiting your arrival and praying you didn’t grace us with your presence before we made it to Georgia.
But you waited for the perfect time and holding you was absolutely breathtaking. You were absolutely breathtaking.
There are so many things you do each day that amaze me. You’ve been rolling over for months now and are trying to army crawl. You sit up on your own, reach for everything and anything around you, and are seriously the happiest baby I’ve ever seen.
You’ve started eating solids but prefer nursing over anything. You light up when you see me and if I had to guess, I’d put my money on us being best friends for life.
You love your brother and seeing you two together just melts my heart. We planned to have you close in age so that you could always have each other to play with. But the other day, Nolan turned to you and said “you’re my best friend” and it nearly brought me to tears. He loves you, and despite him being a little rough sometimes, he just wants to be near you every minute of the day.
You sleep in your crib but I joke with your dad that you’ll be sleeping with me when he leaves for deployment. I won’t mind snuggling you once in awhile but for the most part, everyone in their own beds is best 😉
If you’re having a tough time falling asleep, I give you the shirt I was wearing that day. I guess you like to be comforted by my scent and it seriously melts my heart, as weird as it is. Maybe it reminds you of nursing, I’m not sure, but it makes me happy to know I can comfort you, even when I should be letting you cry it out (which I usually don’t last more than a few minutes but shh, don’t tell your dad).

You also love your jumperoo but HATE your carseat. I think I remember Nolan disliking his too so hopefully when we switch you to a “big kid” carseat, you’ll like it a little more. But you love anything that lights up or things with lots of colors. And if I’m nursing while Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on for Bubby, forget it. You seriously love that show and will “watch” it all day.
Having two kids two years apart is hard, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. You make your daddy and me so happy and I can’t imagine my life without you. My only request? Don’t grow up too fast. Being a kid is the best thing in the world and I will do my best to make sure you cherish this time.
I love you sweetheart,
Mommy
