Cozy reading corner in the baby nursery

Today’s post is sponsored by Baby Relax. All opinions are my own.

One of the most exciting things about having a new baby is designing the nursery. At least for me anyways! I love decorating and designing new spaces and there’s nothing cuter than a baby’s room!

I knew I wanted to have a cozy reading corner in the baby nursery but I wanted it to be functional for both baby and me. Not only would it be a reading corner but the place where I would nurse baby during midnight (and 2 am, 4 am, etc) feedings. So finding a rocker I loved was my first priority.

This rocker from Baby Relax is seriously amazing. Not only is it chic and comfortable, but it also comes with removable rocker legs that turn into a regular armchair when you no longer need to use it as a rocker. So you can use it in another room and get more bang for your buck. We had a rocker with our previous kids but it wasn’t functional in any other room in the house. A purchase like this makes way more sense and is much more functional beyond the baby years.

I didn’t have room in the nursery for a bookcase, so I decided to go with bookends on top of the dresser. I love love love this dresser because it’s a piece that can grow with baby as she gets older. I didn’t want to invest in a changing table dresser combo (we already had a changing table) but I love that this dresser offers the option to purchase a dresser topper so you can convert it if you wish.

I started her book collection and plan to add to it as time goes on. Receiving books instead of cards at baby showers or baby sprinkles is a great way to kick start your library. But I also find new to gently used books at flea markets, clearance sections, and even a monthly book subscription box. It’s so important to read to your baby, even before they’re born. And I hope she loves her reading corner and collection as much as I do.

We are so excited to meet our baby girl and hope creating this space, especially her reading corner, will be a place she learns to love just as much as I do. I wanted to give her a space that was relaxing and cozy and all of these pieces came together to do exactly that.

The dresser, rocker, and bookends are all available at Target or Target.com and I’ve linked them above for your convenience 🙂
