Weekend recap + cleaning out my closet

Monday sucks. Monday at 6 a.m. sucks worse. Monday at 6 a.m. with a sore throat sucks the worstest. (Yes, I’m aware that’s not a real word. My coffee is still brewing so roll with me here)…I’m blaming Georgia pollen and the fact that my car is now yellow because of it. #zyrtec

But in all seriousness, we had a wonderful weekend. Z was given Friday off for his awesomeness in winning the competition, so we started the day out with coffee and a stroll downtown. We checked out the new gym we will be joining (lawd help me) and then headed to Bubs’ school for an Easter Egg Hunt. Which would be hunt number one out of four. Anyone need some candy? I can spot you for months now.
Our Easter plans included 5 little ones, so I headed to the Dollar Tree to grab some stuff to make them all baskets. I seriously love putting together baskets for people… is that weird? But I put these babies together and then headed to post for Easter Egg Hunt #2 at Z’s work. The kids had a blast running all over the office, and they made sure to hop them up on cupcakes, cookies, and Jello eggs before sending them home with us.
We spent the night with my friends’ kids so my friend and her husband could out for a few hours, and watch Earth to Echo. Which if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. It’s a kids movie but there are definitely parts where I was rolling laughing. Specifically one of the characters… Munch. He was the greatest.
I headed to Sam’s Club on Saturday and signed up for a membership. Maybe I’m the last person on Earth to join, but I had no idea it was so cheap! I can’t wait to start using it and hopefully saving some $$$. I headed to the grocery store after to brave the crowds as I got supplies for Easter dinner. My contribution was my mom’s ham and potato casserole. There’s recipe, just something she told me how to make and she’s been making for as long as I can remember!
We watched the March Madness games Saturday night, and am sad to report that I’m totally out in one and have a chance to come in 6th in another. Womp Womp. There’s always next year, I suppose.
Sunday morning was an early one. And we were totally okay with it; there’s nothing quite like seeing kids excited about holiday magic. The Easter bunny had come to our house and the babies were super excited about it. We ate our traditional “eggs in a nest”, cinnamon rolls, and bacon, and then got ready to head to our friends house.
We hadn’t planned on doing anything other than staying home until my friend Amy invited us. And I am so beyond thankful she did. The kids played with a dozen other kids all afternoon, while the grownups talked over mimosas and an abundance of food. As I mentioned the other day, it’s sometimes hard to be away from family, especially on holidays. But making great friends who you can share in this common ground with make it so much easier.
Beautiful weather, great friends, and a ton of memories. I would say that’s a recipe for a good weekend 🙂 I hope you all had a fabulous one as well. Although attending church wasn’t in our equation, we celebrated the real reason for the day in our hearts and minds.
I also started to clean out my closet this weekend. My closet is busting at the seams and a lot of my things still have tags or are very gently worn. I posted them on my closet Instagram account, and would love for you to take a look! I’ll be posting more the next few days and will send them out ASAP! You just have to comment SOLD on the item you want (if it isn’t already taken) and I will explain how the rest works! Here are a few of the items up for grab 🙂

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend too! xoxo
