The holidays are my absolute favorite time of year. And until I was married, I never needed to travel anywhere during them. Most of my family lives here in northeast Ohio and we rotate houses each year. But now that we live in Georgia and travel to Ohio for Thanksgiving and Christmas, things are a lot different.

We will be staying with my parents for the next few weeks and because I’m not in the comfort of my own home, it’s hard to completely stock the fridge and cabinets with groceries. Space is limited! But I still want to contribute and cook meals when I can, and Marie Callender’s pot pies makes that super easy to do 🙂

Whether I’m cooking dinner for my entire family or just looking for something quick for lunch, Marie Callender’s pies has a variety of sizes and flavors to make everyone happy. I used to love pot pie as a child and my kids are the same way now. These taste just like homemade pot pies but are a lot easier and definitely quicker!
And of course, no meal would be complete without dessert! These three ingredient Oreo truffles are super easy and will hit that sweet tooth after devouring a scrumptious pot pie 🙂

Ingredients:

Block of cream cheese (I used light)
1 package of Oreos (I used regular)
Bag of chocolate chips ( I used semi sweet)

Steps:

Crush Oreos (leave a few for garnish).
Mix crushed Oreos with block of softened cream cheese.
Roll into small balls and place on cooking sheet in freezer for 10 minutes.
Melt bowl of chocolate chips.
Dip frozen balls in chocolate.
Garnish with crushed Oreos, sprinkles, candy canes, etc.

And that’s it! I make these all of the time and I always experiment. I’ve used milk chocolate, semi-sweet, dark chocolate, and white chocolate. I haven’t yet, but there are so many flavors of Oreos and I would love to experiment with the mint, candy cane, etc. They’re easy, delicious, everyone will think they took way more time and effort than they did 😉

As a military family, we understand the importance of family and spending time together. We are often forced to spend a lot of time apart and truly appreciate the time we do get to spend together. I absolutely love that Marie Callender’s has also started the Comforts from Home Project; any purchase with a specially marked box and code provides a donation to a USO and USO2GO.
