Hickory Farms for the Holidays…and a GIVEAWAY!

Can you believe Thanksgiving is already next week?! I’m freaking out! A good freakout of course, and for a few reasons…
I love food. Seriously, I’m one of those people where when I finish a meal, I’m already thinking about what I’m eating next. So a day dedicated to eating copious amounts of yumminess, spending time with family, and watching football, I’m all over it.
One of the best parts about getting together with family is reminiscing about past years and laughing about all of the funny things that have happened. The maybe not so funny things, but the experiences that have brought you closer as a family and made you into the person you are.
This year, I was lucky enough to receive a gift basket from Hickory Farms as a “thank you” for being a military family.

Pretty awesome right? So what better way to taste all of these awesome goodies than to have some friends over and share the wealth. Here’s what we thought about everything!
Crackers:
Olive Oil and Rosemary-Delicious! They tasted like a flatbread pita and super crunchy. The Rosemary scent was pretty strong but wasn’t overwhelming when eating it. Good by itself, better with cheese on it.
Golden Toasted- Buttery, golden wheat taste. Super crispy, delicious!
Sausages: Let me just preface this and say I am not a big fan of sausage, however I did try all of these and also had some input from people who are!
Signature Beef Summer Sausage- The only negative thing that was said about this was that it was kind of grainy. I wasn’t particularly impressed with this kind but Z said it was okay.
Spicy and Savory Beef Summer Sausage-Liked this a lot better than the Signature type;   had a little kick to it and when paired with cheese it was great.
Turkey Summer Sausage- THIS WAS AWESOME. It tasted exactly like honey ham and had a smoother texture.
Signature Farmhouse Cheddar- Great flavor, not too cheesy and great when paired with the crackers and meat
Mission Jack Blend- Tasted like Havarti cheese, buttery and creamy and I was a huge fan.
Smoked Cheddar Blend- Half of the group liked this and half of them didn’t. The corners were chewy and it smelled strongly of BBQ. The guy who loved smoked cheese absolutely loved this.
Creamy Swiss Blend- Z was extremely excited about this haha he loves his Swiss cheese! And I think he talked about this all night… his words were “Oh yea” and “Awesome”. Didn’t have an overpowering Swiss taste from what I know about Swiss and will definitely be getting more of this.
Three Cheese and Onion-Very oniony (which I like) and very creamy.
Parmesan Herb Blend- Tasted pretty good but would have been better cold (I was too excited to wait). Wasn’t too cheesy, which is good!
Sweet Hot Mustard- I’m not normally a mustard gal but I really liked this when paired with pretzels and a cracker/cheese/meat sandwich. Doesn’t burn your mouth but definitely has a little kick!
Honey and Pineapple Mustard- I didn’t taste the Pineapple part of this but Z said he did. I just tasted the honey but regardless, it wasn’t bad.
My favorite part about this company, besides the delicious food? They offer military holiday gift baskets with free shipping to deployed soldiers and you can check it out here. I wish I would have known about this last year because I know the guys Z was deployed with would have loved a little taste of home around the holidays.
They seriously have such a great variety, and I sure wouldn’t mind getting this in the mail…
So now that I’ve made your mouth water with all of these great pictures and descriptions, it’s time for YOU to try some of these goodies for yourselves!
