BUMPDATE: 34 WEEKS

What a week friends. I think I’ve cried more this week than I have my entire pregnancy. Some because of the baby, some because of my other kids, some just because. Hormones are real but I’ve had a lot of triggers this week which I’ll get to later.

I started packing my hospital bag this week and bouncing on my exercise ball. I know it’s still early but I am just getting so darn impatient. I obviously don’t want her to come too early but I’m at a point where I’m so stressed and emotionally stir crazy that I just want the next few weeks to fly by. I told myself I would enjoy every moment I can because this is my last pregnancy but it’s SO hard to do. So hard. Especially when it’s 90 degrees out, the kids aren’t listening, and you have to walk up and down flights of stairs all day. Not complaining (well maybe a little) but trying to stay as positive as I can.

I’m working on a few posts as I enter the last few weeks of pregnancy but if you have any questions or anything I didn’t cover, please let me know! Happy to share my experiences (the good, the bad, and the ugly).

So here’s what’s been going on with baby this week:

How far along: 34 weeks + 4 days

Size of baby: Butternut Squash

Baby’s size and weight: 17.7 inches and 4.63 lbs

My total weight gain: 42lbs

Baby’s development:

Baby is recognizing and reacting to songs.

Urinating about a pint a day.

Baby is listening to your convos (so watch your mouth!)

Baby may be starting to descend lower into your pelvis or “dropping”

Bones continue to harden but skull won’t be completely fused so it can pass easily through the birth canal.

Stretch marks: Small ones on the hips

Maternity clothes: Living in sundresses.

Gender: Girl.

Movement: She’s starting to slow down since she’s getting super cramped in there.

Sleep: What’s that? Rolling from side to side in pain is not exactly the best sleep I’ve ever had. And I’m getting up to go to the bathroom 2-3 times a night.

What I miss: not waddling like a penguin when I walk and sleeping without being in pain.

Food cravings: Nothing inparticular but have to watch my sugars extra closely now…

Symptoms: Back pain, pelvic pressure, burning sensation under ribs, not sleeping, irritability.

The siblings are: insane. We’ve had a few camps here and there but the next one isn’t for another week and a half. And mama is trying to stay sane but it’s not easy when I feel like a whale and the exhaustion is unbearable. We’ve been doing things like making slime, tie dye, etc and of course, heading to the pool or lake when dad gets home. I can’t bring myself to take them without an extra hand right now… I’m too large to jump in or chase after them if need be!

High of the week:  Getting to see the baby at the ultrasound.

Low of the week: Finding out the baby is “ginormous” and scaring the crap out of me that I’ll either need a) insulin or b) a c-section. Which I know, isn’t the end of the world but it just wasn’t something I pictured happening, especially so late in my pregnancy. I go back to the doctor Tuesday and we’ll chat more about it. But I called her freaking out and she told me to just keep a close eye on my diet and sugar levels and worry about the things I COULD control. We’ll also do another ultrasound in 4 weeks and induce by 39 if I haven’t gone into labor naturally by that point. Which fingers crossed I have because I am just so miserable. I know, last baby… savor it. But not at this point… I just want her out safely.

We also had a super scary incident with my soon-to-be-middle child, which I have a whole blog post in the works. It’s just too much to get into right now and I have so many thoughts and emotions running through my head. But if you saw my Instagram stories, you know what I’m referring to. Stay tuned, more coming soon.

We are SUPER excited because we are going to the KIDZ BOP concert downtown tonight! I was recently asked to be a Kidz Bop ambassador, so we also got VIP passes and the kids are beyond excited. I may even throw on some glitter and color extensions… who knows, might get crazy!

We have our last baseball game tomorrow (as long as the rain holds off). This season flew by! And other than that, I think we’re going to try and take it easy. I know it will be super crazy once the baby is here so I want to make sure my kids are feeling the love before that chaos sets in.

Have a great weekend babes, see you Monday! xo
