24 Week Bumpdate
How far along: 24 weeks
Size of baby: Ear of corn
Baby’s size and weight: 8.5 in, 1.5 lb
My total weight gain: 28 pounds. Blah.
Baby’s development:
-Gaining 6 oz per week from accumulating body fat, growing organs, bones, and muscles
-Her hearing is getting sharper and can hear very loud noises
-Face is almost fully formed with eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair
-Hair is white since there are no pigments yet!
Stretch marks: None.
Maternity clothes: Oh yea. I can still wear bigger sizes in normal clothes and just belt them over my belly so I don’t look even bigger. AND I finally bought a pair of faux leather leggings as I talked about here 🙂
Gender: Girl.
Movement: Yes, she’s crazy! Although to be honest with you, I really don’t notice it until I’m sitting or laying down for the night. When I was pregnant with Bubba, I would stop everything and fully take it in and with her, I don’t have time to do that. I started feeling really guilty about it the other day but it’s a lot harder to notice it when I’m chasing around a toddler.
Sleep: Still not sleeping well… still taking Unisom nightly.
What I miss: I know, it’s the same every week, but I miss being thin. And I of course miss my husband.
Food cravings: Nothing specific but I have been a lot hungrier.
Symptoms: Tired and run down, and I threw out my back Monday at Bubs’ gym class. OUCH.
Nolan is: the best. I can’t tell you how lucky I feel each day to be his mommy. Some days are harder than others (like when he doesn’t listen) but at the end of the night, I snuggle up to my little gremlin and am so thankful he’s mine.
Zach is: rocking out at school! He just got a 98% on his last exam and studying his butt of for the next one. Go hubby!
What I’m looking forward to: a reunion with my hubby TWO weeks from today! Woo hoo!!
Best moments: Winning the giveaway on Simply Clarke… SO lucky and blessed <3 Hello shopping for the new home! And getting our maternity pictures back. You can see them here if you missed them!
Funny things: My parents and brother were on TV at the Indians game the other night.. the same game and seats I was supposed to go to and sit in. But because I threw out my back, I elected not to go sit in a hard chair for 3 hours. But my brother made a hilarious face when they showed him and we’ve been pausing and rewinding it all week. HA!
Not so funny things: Thinking about traveling alone with Bubba… and pregnant. I need to find a cheap carry-on bag that has wheels to make it easier on myself in the airport. He picked out this sweet Toy Story one “aka Woody” and hasn’t put it down since. He’s the coolest.
I also received this thoughtful card from Miss Jordan this week and I feel so blessed to have had met her. This blogging community has truly helped me on my hardest days and I just feel so lucky to have you all in my life. Never underestimate the power of a snail mail card with a few sweet words written in it… it can brighten someone’s day 🙂
