Last week, I put together a typical spring outfit; floral skirt and bright colored accessories. This week, I decided to put together an outfit that I could wear while running errands; functional and trendy!
Since spring is so hit or miss in upstate NY, this outfit reflects the need to stay a little warmer (not too warm, because I sweat while running errands) but also account for the sun shining 🙂
L Autre Chose sleeveless top:$178
Rag bone: $55
Joseph stretch pants: $241
Ash booties: $205
Balenciaga gold bag: $1,795
Jenny Packham silver bracelet: $42
Sydney Evan pendant jewelry: $495
Houndstooth jewelry: $5
Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet watch: $200
Marc by marc jacobs eyewear: $110
Total cost: $3,326
My Reality Chic Look:
Vest: Ann Taylor Loft Very old, $4.99 Clearance
Cami: Express, $15 (Buy one, get one $9.90)
Leggings: old, but Kohls (similar) $10
Black wedge booties: Rampage (similar) $29
Bag: Aldo (similar) $49.99
Bracelet: Olivia Accessories $10.60
Necklace: Stella and Dot $69
Earrings: Borrowed Lark $4
Watch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Nordstrom Sale $100
Sunglasses: Marc by Marc Jacobs (similar) $78
So even though this total still looks pretty pricey, look at the staple items that are investments; the watch, purse, and sunglasses. These are things that I can wear all the time and honestly, have lasted me SO long. The other items.. the actual “outfit” didn’t cost me that much at all!
When I’m shopping, I usually only splurge on accessories, like the ones pictured above. I know I’m going to get mucho wear out of them and that they will last forever.
Still, not too shabby if you look at the total price from the Polyvore look above!
